In Appreciation… of You

This is why we do it…

If you are wading back into the pond with the start of Phase 2, as we are, you might also have spent the last few days at work remembering why you chose to do what you do.

A lot of us are making our first flush of person-to-person contact with our customers and clients...after months of being frozen in digital suspension.  And while we may not see the smiles behind the masks, it is so good to make a personal connection again without the use of a computer screen between us!  To have a conversation where no one freezes mid-sentence, gets booted from a meeting, or can’t seem to find their way in to begin with.

...Remember chats by the coffee machine?  Those still happen! 

...How much did you miss your doggy daycare “kids?!?”

...Good ol’ Ed and his terrible Dad-jokes, every time you made a deposit at the bank.

...A sudden moment of unaccounted-for-delight because you may still be working on that dang presentation, but your Team is in the same room, building it with you!

Who would have thought there would be so much to be thankful for, to be encouraged by, just being with your Team again? ...in ways we seemed to squander before…

This week has been about the million-and-one tiny moments of appreciation in “getting the band back together again.”  Sure we have a load of stiff requirements.  Yeah, we are still masked up, and wide-gapping one another in the hallways.  But this is the beginning of starting to pick up and play our instruments again...the way they were meant to be. Yet somehow, in a new way... with added skills, fresh ideas, determined to tighten the Team up to prime rock status, better than before.

Man, did we miss being in the room with you!
